Women's Big XII Tournament for USATSI

For the first time since 2011, the Baylor Lady Bears weren't the ones hoisting the trophy at the end of the weekend. Texas upset them on Sunday with a great outing by freshman Rori Harmon.

It was great to be back on the floor at Municipal Auditorium for the first time since the pre-COVID era, and I’m a big fan of the new lighting they installed at the arena.

Hats off to all of the amazing women that competed this weekend and the women in media I met covering the tournament as well.

2019 Big XII Men's Basketball Tournament for Imagn

I had the privilege of photographing the 2019 Big XII Men's Basketball Tournament for the second year last weekend. Those four days at Sprint Center are among my favorite of the year. I grew up a Big XII sports fan, attended a (formerly) Big XII school and love watching how the rivalries unfold and the records don't seem to matter at the end of the season. This year's tournament was great fun and full of nail-biting moments. Here are some of my favorite photos from the first three rounds.

NCAA Tournament Round 1: Penn V Kansas for the Philly Inquirer

Last week I traveled to Wichita, Kan. to cover the first round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament matchup between the no. 1 seeded Kansas Jayhawks and no. 16 seeded Penn Quakers. Sports writers from various publications picked the upset. It was a wild game and the underdogs stole the lead early on. But, Kansas being Kansas, the Jayhawks regained their composure toward the end of the first half and from then on the Quakers couldn't keep up. Here are a few of my favorite images from the trip.
